Teflurane, 2-bromo-1,1,1,2- tetrafluoroethane, CF3CHFBr, Mr 180.95, a nonexplosive, noninflammable gas, bp 8 ?C. Its anesthetic qualities are similar to those of halothane . Teflurane is prepared by bromination of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane at temperatures above 400 ?C .
