Hippocasine Usage And Synthesis
DescriptionHippocasine has been obtained from the defense mechanism of the ladybug Hippodamia caseyi. When pure, it forms a colourless oil having no definite boiling point. Treatment with 30 per cent H20 2 gives the N-oxide (q.v.).
