Product Description:

  Carnosic acid is a kind of diterpenoid compound isolated from the leaves of rosemary Rosmarinusofficinalis. It is white or yellow-white powder, easily soluble in oil, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and other organic solvents, but insoluble in water. Carnosic acid is suitable for the antioxidant of oil-soluble components. Used in sauces, pet food and feed, it has antioxidant and anti-aging effects; Strong weight loss and fat reduction effect; Treatment of cardiovascular disease and anticancer effect.

Pharmacologic Action:

(1) Research on antibacterial effect shows that carnosic acid has different degrees of inhibition on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and saccharomyces hansonii, and can be used as a food preservative. 

(2) Antioxidant effect carnosic acid has a good free radical scavenging and antioxidant effect. The DPPH, ABTS free radical scavenging capacity and iron-reducing antioxidant capacity were stronger than VE, and slightly weaker than TBHQ. Its reducing ability is stronger than VE and TBHQ. Carnosic acid is fat-soluble and can effectively inhibit the formation of peroxides in oils and the decomposition of polyene fatty acids, thus extending the shelf life of oils and fats. In addition, it was found that carnosic acid can effectively remove oxygen free radicals in mouse hepatocytes, reduce the production of lipid peroxide, and thus stabilize the cell membrane. Carnosic acid can also inhibit the oxidation of low density lipoprotein, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of atherosclerosis. 

(3) Other effects studies have found that carnosic acid can inhibit the proliferation of HL-60 cells, and it is expected to become a new drug for the treatment of hematologic malignant tumors, and for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and anti-cancer. Kaloustian et al. introduced that carnosic acid and other rosemary extracts have certain therapeutic effects on heart disease and respiratory diseases, have antibacterial effects, and can inhibit HIV infection. Ninomiya et al. reported that the extract of rosemary such as salvia acid can not only control people's weight by effectively regulating the absorption of fat, so as to achieve the purpose of weight loss, but also can treat inflammation, treat sore throat, treat indigestion, prevent Alzheimer's disease, treat diabetes, and promote the production of nerve growth factor.
