Soluble in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. Exposure to air readily absorbs water to form sodium sulfate decahydrate. At 241 ° C sodium sulfate transforms into hexagonal crystals. Anhydrous sodium sulfate with high purity and fine particles is called sodium sulfate, and sodium sulfate decahydrate is commonly known as glauberite. Sodium sulfate tastes bitter and salty.
