2.1.1. Tripiperidinophosphine oxide, [C5H10N]3PO

The ligand, [C5H10N]3PO, was previously reported to form as a by-product in a reaction yielding {[C5H10N]4P}Br [29]. Here, the synthesis of [C5H10N]3PO was performed by a different method summarized by Eq. (1) and described as follows: a solution of piperidine (6 mmol) in dry acetonitrile (5 ml) was added dropwise to a solution of P(O)Cl3 (1 mmol) in the same solvent (30 ml) at 273 K. After stirring for 4 h, the precipitated amine hydrochloride salt (C5H10NH.HCl) was filtered, and the acetonitrile solution of the ligand was used in the complex reaction.
