3.3 Step 3: Preparation of 5-(aminomethyl) pyrrolidin-2-one (4)
To a solution of compound 3 (1.97 g) in EtOH (55 mL) was added Pd/C (10% wt, 400 mg). The resulting mixture was stirred at rt under 1 atm of H2 atmosphere for 5 h. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated and purified to give compound 4 as a yellow oil (620 mg, yield 15%).
