Steps:

5 Step 5: 4-piperazin-1-ylbenzenesulfonamide

A mixture of 4-fluorobenzenesulfonamide (25.0 g, 142.71 mmol) and piperazine (49.17 g, 570.84 mmol) in water (300 mL) was heated at 100° C. for 24 h. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with water and toluene, and dried under reduced pressure to give 4-piperazin-1-ylbenzenesulfonamide (32.3 g, 94% yield). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 7.61 (d, J=9.0 Hz, 2H), 7.06 (s, 2H), 7.01 (d, J=9.0 Hz, 2H), 3.21-3.15 (m, 4H), 2.86-2.77 (m, 4H).
