Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1:penta-1,3-diene;isopropyl alcohol with tris-(dibenzylideneacetone)dipalladium(0);methanesulfonic acid;1,2-bis[di(t-butyl)phosphinomethyl]benzene in methanol for 0.25 h;Sonication;Schlenk technique;
Stage #2:carbon monoxide with hydrogen in methanol under 22502.3 Torr;

Steps:

4 Standard experimental procedure
General procedure: All screening experiments were performed in a 20 ml home-made multiplex reactor [48]. In an typical experiment 87.5 mg(0.10 mmol) Pd2(dba)3 and 301.8 mg (0.75 mmol) 1,2-dtbpmb,869.1 mg (12.75 mmol) piperylene, 98.0 mg (1.02 mmol) methane-sulfonic acid and 10 ml methanol were placed in a Schlenck-vessel.The mixture was placed in an ultrasonic bath for 15 min. The mix-ture was transferred to an evacuated and ame-dried reactor andsubsequently charged with 30 bar synthesis gas. The mixture wasplaced in an oil bath at reaction temperature e.g. 110 C for vehours. After cooling to room temperature the mixture was depres-surised and analysed by GC-FID.
