Sulfo-SANPAH crosslinker (N-Sulfosuccinimidyl-6-[4'-azido-2'-nitrophenylamino] hexanoate) is a water-soluble, heterobifunctional protein crosslinker with a spacer arm length of 18.2 angstroms. This reagent contains an NHS ester that reacts with primary amines and a nitrophenylazide group that is photoreactive at 320-350 nm toward amino groups. Sulfo-SANPAH commonly enhances Western blot experiments; likewise, Sulfo-SANPAH activated polyacrylamide (PAA) gel crosslinked to fibronectin or collagen matrix (ECM) is used in tissue culture studies.
