- as an internal standard in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry for ceramide quantification from r at samples
- to test its effect on mitochondrial stress response in worms

C24 ceramide induces mitochondrial stress response. Its levels are depleted in coronary artery disease (CAD). Howeverelevated ceramide levels is observed in Alzheimerμs disease. C24 is synthesized during stress. It mediates spontaneous neutrophil death. |
