General procedure for the synthesis of (3-(benzyloxy)phenyl)methanamine hydrochloride from (3-(benzyloxy)phenyl)methanamine: To the (3-(benzyloxy)phenyl)methanamine (1.6 g, 7.6 mmol) obtained in step 204 was added a 3 mol/L dichloromethane solution of hydrogen chloride (5 mL), and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford (3-(benzyloxy)phenyl)methylamine hydrochloride (1.5 g, 6.0 mmol, 79% yield). The product was analyzed by mass spectrometry (ESI) at m/z 214 ([M + H]+).1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) data were as follows: δ 7.47-7.30 (m, 6H), 7.09 (s, 1H), 7.01-6.99 (m, 2H), 5.12 (s, 2H), 3.95 (s, 2H). |
