Cafamycin is a polyether antibiotic active against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus. Cafamycin also demonstrates insecticidal and antiprotozoal activities. Cafamycin is isolated from the culture fluid of Streptomyces sp., an organism producing the anthracycline antibiotic galtamycin[1][2]. | [References]
