Yellow powder. It turns brownish red in concentrated sulfuric acid, yellow in acidic solution of hydrosulfite, and reddish red in alkaline solution of hydrosulfite.
[Uses]

Vat Yellow 33 is used for dyeing cotton fabrics, producing a bright yellow-red color. It has high directness to cotton fibers and good leveling properties. It can be used for resist dyeing and discharge printing.
[Preparation]

4-(4-Nitrophenyl)benzic acid with glucose and reduction, then use Thionyl chloride processing generated accidentally nitrogen compounds, and with 1-Aminoanthracene-9,10-dione (2 Moore) condensation.
