Magnesium sulfate monohydrate can be used:- As a precursor to synthesize magnetic manganese ferrite nanoparticles by alkaline coprecipitation.
- To fabricate manganese octahedral molecular sieve (OMS-2) catalysts for selective aerobic oxidation of aromatic and aliphatic thiols.
- As a catalyst to synthesize benzo-2-pyrones and benzopyrazines.
- As a precursor to synthesize manganese oxide nanoparticles for energy storage applications.
| [Agricultural Uses]
Kieserite is a greyish-white crystalline powder which
contains about 16% magnesium and is used as a fertilizer.
It is regarded as a concentrated form of epsom salt,
having less water of crystallization. The monohydrate
MgSO4·H2O(m onoclinic) occurs in nature as kieserite
which contains 27% magnesium (as MgO) and 22%
sulphur. | [Synthesis]
The production principle of magnesium sulfate monohydrate is that concentrated sulfuric acid reacts directly with light burnt powder (bituminous earth powder) or crushed magnesite raw ore to obtain fertilizer grade magnesium sulfate monohydrate. The follo |
