Erythromycin hydrochloride is a protein synthesis inhibitor with activity against the growth of both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Erythromycin hydrochloride is commonly used in biomedicine to inhibit diseases caused by bacterial infections. Erythromycin hydrochloride is also involved in the inhibition of mammalian mRNA splicing.
