CIS-4-CYCLOPENTADECEN-1-ONE is colorless to light yellow liquid, which may partly solidify. It
has a strong animalic musk note resembling natural musk. It is recommended for
giving boost and naturalness to compositions consisting of other musk ingredients.
(Z)-4-Cyclopentadecen-1-one is produced by a stereoselective hydrogenation of
4-cyclopentadecyn-1-one, which is obtained by a multistep process starting from
cyclododecanol. Key step is the Eschenmoser fragmentation of the
