Light gray or off-white powder. Melting point 98-100°C. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as pyridine and ethanol, and also soluble in 2%-3% hydrochloric acid. | [Uses]
FAST BLUE BB SALT is mainly used for dyeing cotton, and also for dyeing viscose fibers, silk, and printing on cotton fabrics. It couples with naphthols AS, AS-D, and AS-BO to dye blue; and with naphthols AS-OL, AS-BS, and AS-SW to dye reddish-navy blue. Its coupling ability is relatively weak, and the coupling speed is moderate. | [Preparation]
2,5-Diethoxybenzenamine?and Benzoyl chloride ?condensation, and then nitration and reduction (BIOS 1149). |
