TCA-magnesium was produced by first manufacturing technical-grade TCA through the chlorination and oxidation of acetic acid or acetaldehyde, a well-established industrial route for chlorinated acids. Once purified, the TCA was neutralised with a soluble magnesium source, typically magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide, in a controlled aqueous medium that allowed the salt to form cleanly without over dilution or hydrolysis. | [Mechanism of action]
Selective, systemic, absorbed by roots and translocated. Inhibition of lipid synthesis | [Pesticide Type]
