The commercial production of tiaojiean typically involves the quaternization of 4-methylmorpholine with methyl chloride. In industrial processes, 4-methylmorpholine (obtained from morpholine via methylation or other routes) is reacted with excess methyl chloride in a suitable solvent or under controlled conditions, often in an autoclave or pressure vessel, to form the quaternary ammonium salt. The reaction is exothermic and conducted at moderate temperatures with cooling; the product is then isolated by crystallization, filtration, and drying to yield the technical-grade tiaojiean. | [Pesticide Type]
