musk methyl propionate is a colorless liquid with a soft but tenacious musky note
resembling that of benzopyran musks.
The material can be prepared by reaction of ??,3,3-trimethylcyclohexane-
1-methanol with the corresponding acid chloride, that is,
(2-chloro-2-oxo-ethyl) propanoate. It is used as a substantive musk
