Triglycerol monostearate is a light yellow waxy solid, odorless, with a slightly sweet taste. It is soluble in glycerol, benzene, propylene glycol, hot ethanol and cold ethyl acetate, and insoluble in cold water, but can be dispersed into an emulsion by stirring in hot water. Its HLB value is 11.3 (hexamer). The rat LD50 is 20g/kg, and the ADI is 0-25mg/kg (FAO/WHO, 1994). | [Uses]
Triglycerol monostearate, technical grade (CAS# 26855-43-6) is a fatty acid derivative and a useful building block. Triglycerol monostearate has been used in the preparation of a coenzyme Q10 micro emulsion, and is also a modifer used as an antifogging agent. | [Synthesis]
