Saposhnikovia divaricata (Turcz.) Schishk., the dried root of the plant (before flowering stems) belonging to the Apiaceae family, is a traditional Chinese medicine. First recorded in the *Shennong Bencao Jing* (Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica), it is listed as a superior-grade herb. It is pungent, sweet, and slightly warm in nature, and enters the bladder, liver, and spleen meridians. It has the effects of relieving exterior syndromes, dispelling wind, eliminating dampness and relieving pain, and dispelling wind and stopping spasms. One new coumarin compound, sapodivarin, and two known compounds have been reported in the literature. This article reports the isolation and structural identification of 18 other compounds. Among them, isobergamotrol, imperatorin, 5-methoxy-7-(3,3-dimethylallyloxy)-coumarin, imperatorin alcohol angelicoyl ester, and salicornin were obtained from Saposhnikovia divaricata for the first time. 5-methoxy-7-(3,3-dimethylallyloxy)-coumarin is one of the chemical components of Saposhnikovia divaricata. 5-methoxy-7-(3,3-dimethylallyloxy)-coumarin can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. |
