[Uses]

NBI-31772 is an insulin-like growth factor-I binding protein (IGFBP) ligand.
[in vivo]

NBI-31772 (5-100 μg; siv; administered at the onset of ischemia) dose-dependently reduces total infarct volume and cortical infarct volume at the onset of ischemia in rats with middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model[2]. NBI-31772 (50 μg; i.v.; administered 0, 1, 2, or 3 hours after MCAO) reduces cortical infarct size and brain swelling in rats with intraluminal suture MCAO model[2]. NBI-31772 (0.4 μM/strip; i.p.; 4 h) induces germinal vesicle rupture in zebrafish[4].

Result:Had similar effects on total lesion volume at the 50 and 100 μg doses.
Affected striatal lesion volume at the 50 μg dose.

Administration:i.v.; Administration 0, 1, 2, or 3 hours after MCAO
Result:The greatest lesion reduction was observed when the drug was administered immediately after MCAO.
