Nitralin is commercially synthesised by nitrating 4-methylsulfonyl-N,N-dipropylaniline. The production process begins with the preparation of 4-methylsulfonyl-N,N-dipropylaniline, which is then subjected to electrophilic aromatic nitration using a mixture of nitric and sulphuric acids.
