It is a sesquiterpenoid isolated from several plant species and is a strong feeding deterrent for the melaleuca weevil that retards larval development. It has a role as a plant metabolite, a volatile oil component, an antimycobacterial drug, an anti-inflammatory agent and an antifeedant. It is a carbotricyclic compound, a tertiary alcohol and a sesquiterpenoid. |
