Triuret is a byproduct of purine degradation in living organisms. It is a product from the pyrolsis of urea.

[Production Methods]

Triuret is produced by decomposing urea in a thin film at 120–125 ℃. It may also be obtained by treating 2 mol of urea with 1 mol of phosgene in toluene at 70–80 ℃.
