Mannatide is an immunomodulator and adjuvant, also known as alpha-polyactin or polyactin A (PA). It consists mainly of mannose and a small amount of glucose residue. Mannatide contains 87.7 to 90.3 per cent total sugars and 4.5 to 6.2 per cent total amino acids. It is used in the treatment of impaired immune function, including cancer and chronic hepatitis B.
