Elubiol is a sodium carbonate-ethylene diamine detergent composition that is used as an antimicrobial agent in skin care products. It kills bacteria by disrupting their cell membranes, which leads to cell lysis. Elubiol can also be used as an additive in metal hydroxide compositions to remove rust and other impurities. | [Uses]
Elubiol is used as a cosmetic ingredient for conditioning oily skin. Studies have shown it to be effective in controlling sebum output from the skin surface, reducing cholesterol biosynthesis and thus regulating the lipid composition of sebum. In addition, Elubiol has antimicrobial activity against microorganisms associated with dandruff or seborrhea; it also scavenges free radicals, making it suitable for skin and hair care in subjects with oily skin or dandruff. |
