N-[3-(diethoxymethylsilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine has wide applications in the chemical industry, mainly as a coupling agent. It is suitable for coupling thermosetting resins such as epoxy, phenolic, and melamine, as well as hot-melt resins such as polystyrene and polyamide. It is also used as a raw material for amino silicone oil and various organosilicon super-softening finishing agents. It undergoes condensation polymerization with organosilicon monomers such as D4 and DMC to form amino silicone oil, improving the orientation of organosilicon on fibers, increasing its affinity for fibers, and imparting softness, smoothness, drape, antistatic properties, washability, and wrinkle resistance to fibers. Suitable inorganic materials include siliceous materials such as glass, glass fiber, glass wool, mineral wool, mica, and quartz, as well as metals and their oxides such as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, kaolin, talc, steel, zinc, and aluminum. However, they are basically ineffective for fillers such as calcium carbonate, graphite, carbon black, and barium sulfate, which do not contain hydroxyl groups on their surface. Suitable polymers include thermosetting resins such as phenolic resin, epoxy resin, furan resin, urea-formaldehyde resin, polyurethane resin, acrylic resin, polyester resin, silicone resin, and nitrile resin, as well as plastics such as nylon, polycarbonate, PBT, PET, EVA, modified PP, PVC, PVB, PVAC, and PS. |
