3,4-Epoxycyclohexyl methyl methacrylate is an important organic synthesis intermediate, widely used in the preparation of high-performance polymer materials. | [Synthesis]
1-Methanol-3,4-cyclohexene, methyl methacrylate, and methanesulfonic acid were dissolved in toluene and stirred for 2 hours at 120 °C. After cooling to room temperature, sodium bicarbonate, oxyketone, acetone, and deionized water were added, and the mixture was stirred for 3 hours at room temperature. The mixture was allowed to stand for 1 hour to allow phase separation, the aqueous layer was removed, and the organic layer was dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate. Toluene was removed under vacuum at room temperature, and the final product was collected. The compound was confirmed by 1H NMR and GC-MS to be 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl methacrylate. | [References]
