A. Preparation of 4-methylpiperidine-4-carboxylic acid hydrochloride. 1-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-4-methylpiperidine-4-carboxylic acid (0.500 g, 2.06 mmol) was dissolved in 4 M hydrochloric acid in dioxane solution (10 mL), and the reaction was carried out at room temperature for 2 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, 4-methyl-4-piperidinecarboxylic acid hydrochloride (0.294 g, 100% yield) was obtained. Mass spectrum (electrospray positive ion mode) [M+H]+ = 144.0. | [References]
