Synthesis of compound 26: To a solution of methanol (200 mL) containing compound 25 (14.7 g, 54.2 mmol) was added 10% wt Pd/C (2.88 g, 2.7 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 4 hours at 1 atmosphere of hydrogen pressure. After completion of the reaction, the mixture was filtered through a diatomaceous earth plug and the filtrate was concentrated to give compound 26 (11.1 g, 85% yield). Electrospray mass spectrometry (ES(+)MS) showed m/e = 242 ([M + H]+). | [References]
