9,10-亚甲基油酸甲酯 是梧桐酸的一种酯形式，是 Δ9 去饱和酶的抑制剂。Methyl sterculate (Sterculic acid methyl ester; Methyl Sterculate) (0.75 mM) 可抑制细菌 R. opacus 的生长，并对其产生毒性。当浓度为 0.25 或 0.5 mM 时，它会降低 R. opacus 中的脂肪酸含量，增加棕榈酸与其他脂肪酸的比例，并降低硬脂酸和油酸的含量。Methyl sterculate (Sterculic acid methyl ester; Methyl Sterculate) (50 ppm) 对虹鳟鱼中黄曲霉毒素 Q1 诱导的肿瘤生长增加具有协同作用。
