Hinokiol demonstrates potent activity against clinical isolates of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Hinokiol has significant inhibitory effects on 5-hydroxy-eicosa-tetra-enoic acid (5-HETE) and leukotriene B(4) (LTB4) formations, suggests that it has anti-inflammatory activity.
