Uses
METHYL VIOLET (cas# 52080-58-7) is a useful research chemical. Dyes and metabolites.
Preparation
The greater methylation pararosaniline (mainly containing N-4, 5, 6 methyl derivatives) hydrochloride salt mixture,the mixture is N,N-dimethylanilinechloride and copper oxide, or the air acting on the N,N-dimethylaniline, phenol, sodium chloride and a mixture of copper sulfate in the system, and then the mixture into the free base.
Properties and Applications
brilliant blue purple. Soluble in water is purple, soluble in ethanol to purple. In concentrated sulfuric acid to orange, dilution after green precipitation. Dye aqueous solution to join sodium hydroxide as brownish red, precipitation. Mainly used in oil painting, also used in plastics, all kinds of resin coloring.
