Uses

2′,4′,6′-Trimethoxy-3′-methylacetophenone (compound 15) is a rosin lactone that can be isolated from E. portulacoides[1].

Preparation

Obtained by reaction of dimethyl sulfate with 4,6-dihydroxy-2-methoxy-3- methylacetophenone in the presence of potassium carbonate in boiling acetone for 2 h (quantitative yield).
