DL-CYSTINE (3,3,3',3'-D4, 98%) Chemical Properties, Uses, Production

Preparation

DL-Cystine-d4 is found in keratin, hair, wool, and gelatin. Industrially, it is produced through hydrolysis extraction. This involves hydrolyzing hair (or feather powder, etc.) with hydrochloric acid, followed by decolorization with activated carbon, filtration, and neutralization with ammonia water to obtain the DL-Cystine-d4.

Description

DL-Cystine-d4 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of cystine by GC- or LC-MS. DL-Cystine is a racemic mixture of D- and L-cystine. D-Cystine is an inactive enantiomer of L-cystine , an oxidized form of cysteine .1

Uses

DL-Cystine-d4 is the deuterium labeled 2-Acetamidobutanoic acid[1].
