Uses
Sodium Cyclopropanesulfinate is a general chemical reagent used in the synthesis of AMG 232 (A576560), a potent MDM2-P53 inhibitor for use as an anti-tumor agent.
Synthesis
Sodium cyclopropyl sulfite was prepared as follows: sodium sulfite (1.32 g, 1.1 mmol), sodium bicarbonate (1.6 g, 20.0 mmol) was dissolved in pure water (15 mL), and the reaction was stirred at 55 C for 10 min, then cyclopropylsulfonyl chloride (1.4 g, 10.0 mmol) was slowly added dropwise, and the reaction was stirred at 60 C for 3 h. After the reaction was stirred at 60 C for 3 h, the water was concentrated directly to dryness, and cyclopropylsulfinic acid (4 g) was obtained. sodium cyclopropylsulfonate (4 g).
