Uses
Sterol regulatory element binding transcription factor 1 (SREBF1) gene is located on human chromosome 17p11.2. SREBF1 encodes the transcription factors SREBP-1a and SREBP-1c. SREBP-1a is expressed in spleen and intestine.SREBP-1c is expressed in liver, adipose tissue and skeletal muscle.
General Description
Anti-SREBP-1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SREBP-1 protein.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Sterol regulatory element binding protein-1 (SREBP1) participates in the transcriptional regulation of cellular lipid homeostasis. It controls the hepatic gene expression of lipogenic enzymes and triglyceride deposition in the liver.
