Description
Aminocyclopyrachlor is a herbicide that is not widely approved in the developed world. It is highly soluble in water, a low volatility and is moderately persistent in soil systems. Its persistence in aquatic systems will depend on local conditions. Based on its chemical properties there is a risk this chemical could leach to groundwater. It is not highly toxic to humans and tends to generally have a low to moderate toxicity to biodiversity.

6-AMINO-5-CHLORO-2-CYCLOPROPYLPYRIMIDINE-4-CARBOXYLIC ACID is an organochlorine herbicide, the structure of which is that of pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid substituted at positions 2, 5 and 6 by cyclopropyl, chloro and amino groups respectively.
Production Methods
The synthesis of aminocyclopyrachlor involves the construction of a substituted pyrimidine ring, specifically 6-amino-5-chloro-2-cyclopropylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid. The production process includes halogenation, cyclopropylation, and amination steps under controlled conditions to ensure high purity and herbicidal activity.
Agricultural Uses
Herbicide: In August 2010, EPA conditionally registered the active ingredient aminocyclopyrachlor for pesticide applications. In August 2011, the EPA issued a Stop Sale, Use or Removal Order for the herbicide Imprelis (which contains the active ingredient aminocyclopyrachlor), which may be causing injury to certain species of evergreen trees, particularly Norway spruce and white pine [83] . Aminocyclopyrachlor is being registered for uses of general weed and brush control on private, public and military lands including sod farms, uncultivated non-agricultural areas such as airports, highways, railroads, golf courses, lumber yards, wildlife habitats, multi-family residential complexes, recreation areas, utility rights of way, with residential use specified for lawn/turf [83] . For control of weeds in cool-season lawn grasses, especially bluegrass. Not listed for use in EU countries.

Mechanism of action
Synthetic auxin readily absorbed by plant leaves and roots. Translocates in both the xylem and phloem and is thought to accumulate in the meristematic areas of the plant.
