Uses
Xinjunan is a plant antimicrobial.
Production Methods
The production route for seboctylamine is not available in open literature. However, its production route can be inferred from its chemical identity and structure and would probably have followed the standard approach for fatty amine ethylenediamine derivatives: starting from octylamine, manufacturers would carry out stepwise alkylation or reductive amination with ethylene dichloride or ethylenediamine, generating the di substituted diethylenetriamine backbone. The resulting polyamine would then be neutralised or converted to salts (e.g., acetate, hydrochloride), purified, and dried to produce technical grade seboctylamine for formulation.
Mechanism of action
Broad spectrum, systemic. Work by forming a barrier on plant surfaces, preventing pathogens from germinating and infecting the plant.
