Uses
Sinapultide is defined as a synthetic peptide replacement for SP-B, designed from the charge distribution of the last 22 amino acids of SP-B, and is clinically used for the prevention of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in at-risk premature infants.
Synthesis
The Protect 21 peptide resin was transferred to a 2000 ml reactor, add the reagent (TFA/TIS=932 ml/68 ml) which was prepared beforehand and pre-cooled to about -10 to -7C, and stirred at 13-16C for 65 minutes. The solvent was removed to a small volume under reduced pressure, 1000 ml of cold anhydrous ether was added, precipitated, the precipitate was collected by filtration, washed well with anhydrous ether and dried under vacuum. Obtained 84.5g (68.8mmol) of crude sinapeptide, yield 98.3%.

Sinapultide-loaded microbubbles (MBs) (0.1 mg; nasal delivery; collected at 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours after LPS) improves pulmonary edema in lung injury and increases lung W/D weight in LPS-induced ALI mice[2].
