Uses
Calcium magnesium dicarbonate is used in the chemical industry to manufacture magnesium sulfate, calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, light magnesium carbonate, and granular fertilizer. It is also used as a filler in rubber and pharmaceuticals, a neutralizer for soil acidity, a metallurgical flux, building stone, refractory materials, and an ingredient in ceramics and glass. It can also be used to refine metallic magnesium. The use of dolomite powder in coatings is limited, mainly as a filler and white pigment. However, due to its coarse particles, refractive index similar to coating solvents, and weak hiding power, it is only used as an extender pigment in coatings.
