Uses
Capsiamide is a long chain amide found in essential oil of Capsicum (all hot pepper varieties). Studies showed that Capsiamide decreased spontaneous motor activity and produced a significant prolongation of sleeping time after sodium pentobarbital.

Biological Activity
Cap A solution aborts chains bearing unreacted 5μ hydroxyl groups due to failure of reaction with activated phosphoramidite (typically, 1 to 2% of growing oligonucleotide chains in each synthesis cycle). These unreacted 5μ hydroxyl groups are capped with an acetyl group and thus rendered unreactive for subsequent synthesis steps.
