Uses
Ponceau S dye is used to make a stain for rapid reversible staining of protein bands on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes (Western blots) and also for staining protein on cellulose acetate membranes. It is also suitable for electrophoresis, azo dye for reversible protein staining. This stain can also be used as a fiducial marker in mass spectrometric imaging.

Properties and Applications
colourful red blue light. Soluble in water for product red. The strong sulfuric acid in blue, diluted into orange red. Add in aqueous solution hydrochloric acid basic color; Add sodium hydroxide, thicker solution will appear precipitation.
