CELERY SEED EXTRACT Chemical Properties, Uses, Production
Preparation
Fresh celery was washed, chopped, dried at 60°C, and pulverized to 80 mesh. It was then extracted three times with 40% ethanol at 60°C. The extracts were combined, concentrated under reduced pressure, and then freeze-dried under vacuum to obtain CELERY SEED EXTRACT.

Uses
CELERY SEED EXTRACT: 1. Clears heat and calms the liver, used for symptoms such as dizziness, headache, flushed face, and red eyes due to liver yang hyperactivity. Fresh celery juice can be mixed with an equal amount of honey and taken 40ml three times daily. Alternatively, 500g of celery can be decocted in water, with added sugar to taste, and drunk as a tea substitute. Clinically, this herb has shown some efficacy in treating hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. 2. Clears heat and eliminates dampness, used for symptoms such as difficulty urinating, painful urination, and hematuria. Fresh celery can be washed, juiced, and taken orally. Clinically, a concentrated decoction of this herb is effective in treating chyluria. In addition, this herb also has lung-moistening and cough-relieving effects, and can be used for infantile whooping cough or yin deficiency cough.
