Example 20: General procedure for the synthesis of tert-butyl methoxycarbamate from di-tert-butyl dicarbonate and methoxyamine hydrochloride Step A: Boc-protected amine (12.0 g, 55.0 mmol) was dissolved in dichloromethane (100 mL) and aqueous sodium carbonate solution (17.5 g sodium carbonate dissolved in 100 mL of water) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. After completion of the reaction, the organic layer was separated, washed with water, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give a clear oily product (7.94 g, 98% yield).
