Uses
Cisplatin was the first platinum-based chemotherapy drug, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1978 for the treatment of ovarian cancer. Cisplatin is also a reagent used for the reduction of double bonds, triple bonds, aromatic hydrocarbons, carbonyl groups, nitriles, and nitro groups.
