Use
A type of organic compound containing the –SO2.OH
group. The simplest example is benzenesulfonic acid (C6H5SO2OH). Sulfonic acids
are strong acids. Electrophilic substitution
can introduce other groups onto the ben zene ring; the –SO2.OH group directs substituents into the 3-position.
