| Uses | 5-Bromothienro[2,3-D]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one is a pharmaceutical intermediate that can be prepared by first preparing thienro[2,3-D]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one from 2-aminothiophene-3-carboxynitrile and formic acid, then brominating it to prepare 5,6-dibromothienro[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one, and finally debrominating it with zinc powder and acetic acid to obtain 5-bromothienro[2,3-D]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one. |
